Girls Who Code Club

Girls Who Code Club

This program works to inspire, educate, and equip 6-12 graders with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. Learn to code, improve your problem solving and critical thinking skills, and build a community at the Marion County Public Library Girls Who Code Club!  This is an 8-week program running from August to December. During this 8-week program, we will be building skills from week to week to learn how to create games and other creative coding projects, such as a chatbot friend. We will be learning to use Scratch and Python throughout these sessions. All genders are welcome!

Intro + Wizard’s Wish Game

We will get to know one another during this session and get things set up! Then, you will learn the basics of Scratch, variables, loops, and conditionals, as you create a clicker game with a goal of catching a wizard-toad.
