“Beyond the Book” Book Club Family Read: Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter - ONLINE EVENT

“Beyond the Book” Book Club Family Read: Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter - ONLINE EVENT

To slow things down as we enter the hectic holiday season, Beyond the Book Club is hosting our first Family Read – Pollyanna, by Eleanor H. Porter.

All ages are encouraged to participate! This title is a quick and cheerful read for our regular members and students, and a great read aloud selection for the whole family to enjoy. For our Beyond the Book activity, members should also view the Masterpiece Theatre adaptation of the novel through Hoopla prior to our discussion. Both the novel and video will be discussed at this virtual meeting.

In "Pollyanna", the best-selling 1913 children's novel by Eleanor H. Porter, a young girl goes to live with her wealthy and unmarried Aunt Polly. Though the Vermont townspeople of her new home are generally cold to Pollyanna at first, she soon wins them over with her sunny disposition and her determined optimism. But will she ever thaw the heart of distant Aunt Polly?
